DIY Glitter Candle Jar

Today was my last day of work, thank goodness! I decided to seize the day and take advantage of my new, short-lived freedom (I'm headed off to school for one last semester on the 12th).  Tonight was the perfect night for a very quick craft, because I had lots of cleaning and grad-apping to do - things that had been neglected between work and holidays.

My mom and I thought it would be fun to make this glittery mason jar to hold a tea light.  Well, let's be truthful.  I cannot get enough glitter, and this craft takes no time at all.  All you need is:
  • a mason jar (or lots)
  • a brush (we used a foam one)
  • a water-glue mixture - just so that the glue becomes somewhat runny and easily spread.  Mod Podge works perfectly well, too!
  • your favorite color glitter

Paint the inside of the glass jar with your glue mixture.  You can choose whether you want the glitter to cover the whole jar or only part.  When you're done brushing the inside, dump some glitter in there.  Roll the jar around so that the glitter coats every part where you put the glue.  If you put the lid on and shake the jar, you can be sure that you're being thorough.

Let the jar dry for 45 minutes - just to be safe!  Put a small tea light inside, and your plain glass jar is transformed into a beautiful decorative piece.  These would be perfect for a party or wedding, if you make enough.  They're simple, quick, and affordable!

Get glittering!!!
